Value Chain for Mushroom Cultivation

This project aims to resolve the gaps existing today in scaling up the mushroom cultivation with an innovative approach and provide an alternate source of protein to the rural households in Assam. The project is being implemented in two blocks of ASRLM with 200 beneficiaries, namely Chandrapur and Dimoria. Training has been organized for scientific cultivation of mushroom. A total 4 numbers of Mushroom Demonstration Units (MDUs) have been developed in each of the blocks. Construction of 32 common processing units and 160 individual processing unit is under progress. Till the end of first quarter, 9 members of Mushroom Demonstration Unit (MDU) have earned an income Rs. 18,315/- and also met their consumption needs from the project. A handsome amount of production is expected from next quarter, September, 2018 to be precise.
