SETU Special Project: Graduation Approach for Poorest of Poor Households in Assam

Graduation Approach in Assam : SETU
In Assamese SETU/‘সেতু’ means ‘bridge’; which perfectly aligns to the inherent intention of the project which is to bridge the gap that exists between the poor and the vulnerable in accessing and utilizing resources, services and entitlements in releasing themselves from poverty traps and in bettering their lives. As per NITI Aayog MPI, 47 lakh people have risen out of the poverty trap in Assam in between 2015 and 2021, yet a considerable number of people are still deprived of adequate health, education and basic standard of living.

SETU : Roadmap

Technical Support Agency
The/Nudge Institute (TNI) has partnered with DAY-NRLM as a technical support agency to pilot Graduation Approach in 6 states including Assam through its Economic Inclusion Program (EIP). TNI partners with governments, markets and civil society to build resilient livelihoods for all. At present, under the EIP program, around 1.2 cr poor-households have been served.
