Form a Producer Collective

Form a Producer Collective

Producer Groups (PG) will be formed for farm, off farm and non-farm sector mainly where there is possibility of aggregation, collectivization, value addition and organized marketing.
The Livelihoods support Person will facilitate the farm, off farm and nonfarm Producer Group activities.
A farm sector PG activity primarily refers to collectivization, aggregation, value addition, and processing and organized marketing activities of agriculture and horticulture crops. It includes activities around food crops, vegetables, fruits, flowers, natural fibers, fodder, biofuel and other agriculture and horticulture commodities. Moreover, the farm activities also include off farm activities (e.g.post harvest management, primary processing of farm produce and primary products).
Livestock activities are limited to domesticated animals such as cattle, small ruminants like goats, sheeps, piggery, poultry raised in an agricultural setting to produce commodities such as food, fiber and labor. As piggery, small ruminant like goats and sheeps and poultry rearing are more prevalent among poorest section of the community, priority would be on promoting them.
Non-farm: Non-farm activities would refer to skill based activities other than agriculture, livestock production and processing. The non-farm activities would extend to handloom, handicraft, artifacts, trading, setting up small business, service units, household and cottage industries etc.
