  • Panchayati Raj Institutions - Community Based Organisation Convergence Project

    ASRLMS is implementing Panchayati Raj Institutions - Community Based Organisation Convergence Pilot Project in two selected blocks namely Bajiagaon Development Block in Nagaon District and Lahorighat Development Block in Morigaon district from 2014 with the help of National Resource Organization, Kudumbashree, Kerala. The best practices of Kudumbashree, Kerala in the empowerment of women SHGs has been sought to be replicated in Assam. The project is for a period of three years which will be expanded and upscaled to other intensive blocks later. The project, till its third year has strengthen  the relationship between the Panchayats and Community Based Organisation, including the Gram Sabha that marked a way forward in accessing different schemes and programs i.e MGNREGA, RSBY, NSAP, SBA etc for enhancing livelihoods opportunities and social development. It has been successful in creating awareness and mobilization in Gram Sabhas. The project has developed Local Resource Group members who are deployed in the field. Activities of Participatory Assessment of Entitlements (PAE) has been conducted at SHG level and consolidated in Village organization to put forward their demands on priority basis in the Gram Sabha. So far the project has positively influenced the implementation of various schemes and programmes of both central and state Governments.
